It all started with loneliness, no light bulb moments, just loneliness. 

In 2018, I moved from New Zealand to Australia to start fresh. Yes, I was excited but that excitement slowly dwindled away. We are constantly told that making big changes, taking a leap of faith & exposing yourself to a new environment is invigorating. While that may be true, we are not told about how lonely and challenging that journey in between can be. 

One day, as I sat in my cold, dark & lonely flat in Canberra, I spontaneously made a trip to Spotlight, bought a sewing machine, made my first swimwear in anticipation for summer and the rest is history! 

Today, every single piece is handmade with love. I am committed to making sure that every single woman who wears a Shek piece feels happy, confident, and carefree!
